WHITENING

If you are self-conscious about the shade of your teeth or if you have stained teeth, professional teeth whitening treatment is a safe and recommended option for you to consider. Two types of whitening services are provided at Dental HQ. An in- office procedure which is ideal for anyone wanting immediate results. We also provide a customised home whitening kit for patients to use.
In-office Whitening
In this procedure, a protective barrier is applied to your gums. A light-activated whietning gel is then applied to your teeth and a LED light is used to enhance the action of the agent. This results in whiter and brighter teeth. Finally impressions are taken of your teeth to fabricate customised trays for at-home touch-ups and maintainence.
Home teeth whitening kits are also available. The whitening gel is placed into custom trays and placeddirectly onto your teeth, which will remain on your teeth for around 30 minutes.

WHITE FILLINGS/ ONLAYS

Composite resin is a plastic-based tooth coloured filling material which is bonded to the natural tooth structure. These materials are always being updated and improved, and over time technological advances in biomaterials has allowed fillings to be done very conservatively, maintaining as much healthy tooth structure as possible.
The procedure involves:
1) local anesthetic may be admiistered if the cavity is deep
2) Tooth is prepared and cleaned removing all decay
3) During the filling placement procedure, the resin has a soft putty-like consistency, which can be sculpted and moulded very easily. Once in place, it is then hardened by a blue light which sets the filling to full strength within 20 seconds.
Composite resin can be used to fill both anterior and posterior teeth. However, like any material, composite resin does have its limitations and is not ideal for very large restorations. In such cases either porcelain crowns or porcelain onlays will be advised
Porcelain onlays are an indirect procedure. Ther are made in the laboratory in a process similar to crowns and porcelain veneers. The process is very simple, and requires two appointments
Appointment 1:
Preparation of the cavity as you done with any restoration
An impression is taken of the prepared cavity
A shade will be taken, so that the colour match is ideal
Temporary restoration will be placed for a few days until the laboratory has fabricated the restoration
Appointment 2:
The temporary filling material is removed and the cavity is cleaned up
The new onlay restoration is tried in for coloaur match and fit.
Then the restoration is bonded to the natural tooth structure with luting cement
Crowns
Occasionally, loss of significant tooth structure necessitates the use of a more extensive restorative option such as a porcelain or zirconium crown. A crown, commonly known as a “cap” , is a cover for the tooth, which can be used to protect, strengthen and often improve the aesthetic appearance of a tooth. It can be used in instances where there is extensive tooth damage due to decay, fracture or trauma.

VENEERS

Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain Veneers are a thin porcelain shells similar to a false fingernail that are custom fitted and carefully crafted in a laboratory. It is bonded to the natural tooth structure to to bond to natural tooth structure. This technique enables us to change and improve the aesthetics of your natural tooth structure such as position, shade and shape of your teeth.
Veneers can be a cosmetic option for patients with -
   Crooked teeth
   Spaces/gaps between teeth
Broken down or badly chipped teeth
   Permanently stained or discoloured teeth
   Aged veneers that need replacing
It is a minimally invasive procedure requiring little or no drilling. Impressions and photos are taken and an aesthetic mockup of the final product is created on models to ensure you get exactly the result you want. Upon your approval of the design, the teeth are prepared for the final restorations.
Composite Veneers
Direct composite veneers are a great treatment option as they don't require removal of existing tooth structure.
The procedure involves adding composite resin (white filling material) to improve the shape and appearance of teeth. Whether you wish to close a gap in your teeth, straight uneven teeth, or change the entire appearance of your smile, composite bonding provides amazing results in a pain-free procedure that won’t damage your teeth.

ORTHODONTICS & INVISALIGN

Orthodontics is an effective long term solution to aligning your teeth by using wires and brackets which apply gentle pressure on your teeth over time to move them in a particular direction. orthodontics is used to improve a patient's bite and smile. The science and technology involved with Orthodontics have seen new and improved methodology increase the efficiency and lessen the time required.
At Dental HQ we have highly trained and experienced Orthodontic Specialists who provide orthodontic treatment for both children and adults. Wherever possible a non-extraction approach is preferred. Our services include braces, Invisalign®, adult orthodontics, retainers and orthodontic appliances.
Braces
At Dental HQ we offer orthodontic treatment with all types of braces. We have traditional metal braces and wires, as well as more aesthetic options such as clear braces and white wires.
Invisalign
We also offer Invisalign® which is a form of orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear plastic trays to move your teeth. If the doctor decides at your consult that your case is suitable for Invisalign®, a digital scan of your teeth will be taken and sent to the manufacturer. The doctor will then work with the technicians on your treatment prescription. Each tray is planned for a specific movement, and your teeth will move gradually over time as the trays are replaced.
Adult Orthodontics
Over time more and more adult patients are opting for othodontics. Teh reasons for this may inculde the desire to fix that crooked tooth, or improve a smile that has made them feel self concious for years. Perhaps they have a particular way of biting that is making their teeth wear down prematurely
Many adults usually associate orthodontic treatment with teenagers and feel like they would be awkward in a social or work setting. For those patients, we do offer clear braces or Invisalign® as treatment alternatives.
Retainers and Orthodontic Appliances
For patients who have gone through orthodontic treatment and want to keep things where they are, we provide retainers and other orthodontic appliances.

BOTOX & DERMAFILLERS

Botox is emerging in the field of dentistry as a wonderful new treatment option, not only for improving facial aesthetics but also in the treatment of joint and muscle pain. Have you ever wanted to even out those fine lines? At Dental HQ we help you achieve smoother and fresher looking skin by administering a commonly used injectable muscle relaxant. Our trained dentists will consult with you about which areas of the face you would like to target. Typically the effect will last three to four months, however, with ongoing or preventative doses the effects longer lasting.
Whether you have naturally occurring thin lips, or have lost the volume of tissue in your lips (as part of the ageing process) we can help rebuild and create fuller lips using dermal fillers. Many of us are apprehensive of lip augmentations as we want to avoid unnatural looking ‘fish’ lips seen on many hollywood stars. We at Dental HQ believe in achieving a natural result that enhances the patient's beauty rather than making them look artificial
